Ground turkey is a fairly versatile lean protein; it takes well to any sauce and/or spices in which it is cooked. Again, I used the ingredients I had on hand to create this dish. If you don’t have garam marsala, you can use curry powder and cardamom.

  1. Heat the oil over medium-heat in a large pot with a lid. Add the ground meat. Cook until the meat begins to brown.
  2. Add the onions, ginger, garlic and jalapeno. Cook until onions start to become tender.
  3. Add in the spices and water. Stir to combine and cover. Turn the heat down to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Add the peas. Mix well and cover the pot for 2-3 minutes. Add salt, if needed.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 3 tbs coconut oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 jalapeno (optional)
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp garam marsala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 cups peas
  • salt and pepper
